Who Can Become a GES Coalition Member?
Membership in the GES Coalition is open to all individuals who live in, work in, or have been displaced from the Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea (GES) neighborhoods. We welcome anyone who shares our commitment to community empowerment, anti-displacement efforts, and equitable development. Whether you’re a long-time resident, a newcomer, or someone with roots in the community, your involvement strengthens our collective voice and impact.
Benefits of Being a GES Coalition Member
Build Community Power
As a member, you become part of a network dedicated to fostering unity and resilience within the GES neighborhoods. Engage in community events, cultural celebrations, and collaborative projects that celebrate our diversity and shared heritage. Your participation helps build trust, mutual support, and a stronger, more connected community.
Equal Decision-Making
Membership grants you an equal voice in shaping the direction of the GES Coalition. Participate in voting on campaigns, initiatives, and board member selections. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable in guiding our collective actions and ensuring they reflect the community’s needs and aspirations.
Leadership Development
We are committed to nurturing the leadership potential within our community. Members have opportunities to engage in training sessions, workshops, and direct actions that enhance skills in organizing, advocacy, and community engagement. Develop as a leader and contribute meaningfully to the growth and empowerment of GES.
What Makes a GES Coalition Member?
Being a GES Coalition member means taking genuine pride in the GES neighborhoods and dedicating yourself to representing and uplifting the community. Members are united by a shared commitment to engage with their neighbors, actively participating in community events and initiatives. This spirit of involvement helps strengthen the bonds that hold the neighborhood together and ensures that every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
At the heart of membership is active participation—attending gatherings, joining in on projects, and contributing to the collective efforts that drive positive change. Members understand that their involvement is essential for building a thriving, empowered community.
Membership also comes with a commitment: each member holds a membership card, contributes a suggested annual fee of $10, and takes part in decision-making processes that shape the future of GES. Through these commitments, members play a vital role in the ongoing growth and empowerment of the GES community, helping to build a neighborhood where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to lead.
